One of my hobbies (other than crocheting, of course) is gardening. I like both the flowers and the vegetables. We planted quite a large vegetable garden this year, and right now we are dealing with potatoes.
Potatoes often go bad at my house, if I simply try to store them. So I decided I was going to try freezing them. I had heard that if you bake your potatoes before preparing them for freezing that they turn out just fine. So far I have frozen a bunch of fries and diced potatoes. There are still a bunch of potatoes left in the garden, though, so I plan to do hashbrowns and maybe even mashed potatoes.
I seasoned the fries by simply putting seasoning salt in flour and tossing them in a bag until they were coated. It worked great and they tasted AMAZING! Anyway, if you have a bunch of potatoes on hand, you should try it.
